In fact it was a forced landing. Thermals caused a very fast descent that couldn't be corrected. The balloon hit some power lines.
Richard Abruzzo was thrown out of the basket and the balloon - with only Carol Rymer Davis on board - ascended very fast to a hight of 14000 feet. She landed after 10 miles and contacted the control center. At the same time Abruzzo contacted his family to inform them.
Richard was taken to the hospital for observation, Carol didn't get injured.

In the mean time we learned that other teams have landed:
Gordon Bennett: team USA-1 (Abruzzo / Rymer Davis), team USA-3 (Levin / Sullivan), GER-2 (Brachtendorf / Huthmacher)
America's Challenge: team 1 (Lind / Davis) and team 10 (Boring / Campanale)
