America's Challenge Leaders Near Vaughn, NM

At this hour (10:00 PM MDT), the leaders in the America's Challenge Gas Balloon Race are in the vicinity of Vaughn, NM, approximately 80 miles ESE of Albuquerque. All 14 balloons launched safely within a 40-minute period beginning at 5:00 PM MDT, and all are still flying as of this report.

The balloons are strung out along a line extending eastward from the Manzano Mountains to the vicinity of Vaughn. Teams 4 (Abruzzo/Davis), 5 (Kugler/Sheeshe), 6 (Fricke/Cuneo), and 11 (Robinson/Martin) are currently the leaders, but it's very early and still anybody's race.
